The Mary Orbison Memorial Scholarship
The Mary Orbison Memorial Scholarship is a tribute to the life and legacy of Mary Orbison. For 40 years, Mary was integrally involved in Bible Bowl study and competitions across the nation as a coach, participant, and test author, spreading her love for the word of God to countless individuals. She was the test author for Texas Bible Bowl from 2010-2022. After her passing in 2022, her family and friends established this scholarship in her honor to continue her mission of encouraging and supporting young people in their pursuit of biblical knowledge.
The scholarship is open to participants of Texas Bible Bowl, and the funds will be awarded to individuals who demonstrate a strong commitment to studying and understanding God's word. In 2022 TBB honored Mary with plaque for her years of dedication to young people studying the Bible. Mary spent over two decades writing the test for National Bible Bowl and Texas Bible Bowl. Her attention to detail and Biblical accuracy was incredible. She took every effort to make sure the test furthered the youths understanding to the Lord's Word. TBB was thrilled to present this award to two of Mary's grandchildren.
