In 2009 those of us who participated in National Bible Bowl at Abilene Christian University were sadly informed that they would no longer be hosting National Bible Bowl. It had been on the chopping block for years and it finally became time. ACU was the last major brotherhood school to put on Bible Bowl and a lot of us were disappointed it was over. So, some of us got together and decided we were not going to let Bible Bowl die. This study of God's Word and the fellowship of people from around the country was too important to just stop.
That was how Texas Bible Bowl was born. With the courageous support both spiritually and financially from the elders at both the Magnolia and Lake Houston churches we began work on getting Texas Bible Bowl up and running as soon as we were back from ACU. We didn't really know what we were getting ourselves into, and the amount of work and money it would be, but we put our trust in God and pushed through to be able to hold our first Texas Bible Bowl meet in the Spring of 2010 at Marble Falls, Texas.
We are now looking forward to our thirteenth year of Texas Bible Bowl, and have been growing in number, interest and support every year. We came to a point in 2014 where we needed to find a new location to meet our space needs and we are very encouraged and humbled by that. We have also just completed the process of incorporating into a non-profit corporation to help facilitate those who are interested in donating financially to the everyday expenses of Texas Bible Bowl and we also look forward to soon having a scholarship fund that can be donated to.
We are very excited about the future of this endeavor and are looking forward to working with you and helping to instill a love for God’s word and a yearning to study it in your congregations. We are trying very hard to get all the information together and everything put into place, so please be patient with us as we get all the details together to make this a weekend to look forward to all year.
Above all, we request your prayers for Texas Bible Bowl. We believe a program that puts our youth in the Bible is indeed a worthwhile effort. If you have any questions please Contact Us.
